Surfer-Lowrider Wars
Surfers were mostly white boys, middle class. Lowriders were primarily Hispanic and working class. They were not fond of each other. I recall in high school, back in the mid-1960s, it was surfers and "greasers." Same deal, basically class warfare.

Endless Bummer
This is a pun on Endless Summer, an influential 1966 documentary about surfing.

what's behind the door where Carol is standing
Carol Merrill was an assistant on the TV game show Let's Make a Deal in which contestants would have to choose an unseen prizes hidden behind doors.
